Zermatt, Venice and Stresa pictures

More Venice, this is the bridge of sighs, basically it takes you from the old courthouse to the jail.  So it's called the bridge of sighs because that is the sound people supposedly made when crossing

St Marks square, it's rainy so there isn't anyone out but later, when the sun came out, it was packed

Part of the Doge's palace, it was fancy

Part of St Marks Basilica, they had a lot of mosaics

More canals and bridges, and this is our tour director, I didn't think she would be in the picture and she was much happier than this looks

The glassblowers, this man made a fancy vase in about 2 minutes.  Amazing

The Grand Canal

Mosaic floor from St Marks, it's very fancy

Gondola shot of the harbor

Here is our pack of gondolas, that is Cindy with the musicians, we were the only group out with musicians, classy touch indeed

The Matterhorn on the train up to the mountains

Matterhorn from the top of Gornergrat, looking through my pictures I have a lot of shots of the mountain.  A lot.

Me up at Gornergrat, it was cold up there, our southern friends did not deal too well

The lovely town of Zermatt

The matterhorn from the edge of town

More shots of Zermatt, but it was such a cute town

Our hotel, this was one of the landings, everything was decorated if there was an open space, once you go up the stairs it opens into about 3 different corridors to rooms.  And it's all on light sensors so you have to peek your head in dark corners to find the rooms!

On our way to Stresa, Italy, the opposite of Zermatt

Here I am on the shores of Lake Maggiore

I was jealous of the pretty flowers everywhere, they had roses everywhere and that was all you could smell

Isola Bella, the fancy island with the fancy gardens, we wandered instead of visiting

I liked this pathway down to the water

Roadside creek in the Swiss Alps (it looks weird because I took it from the bus window)
